CareCheckz is a platform that helps Families/Guardians and Care Providers coordinate short, verifiable visits using in-app check-ins, geolocation zones, and escrow. CareCheckz does not guarantee user behavior, personal safety, identity, or the outcome of any visit. All users are independent individuals who choose to meet at their own risk.
By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use CareCheckz.
CareCheckz does not employ providers, supervise visits, perform background checks, guarantee identity, or monitor behavior. We do not control or supervise what happens during any visit.
You agree to provide accurate information, use a current photo of yourself, not impersonate anyone, and behave safely and respectfully. You must not use CareCheckz for harassment, fraud, or illegal activity.
CareCheckz does not continuously track your movement. We only use your approximate location at the moment you tap Verify My Arrival or complete a visit, to see if you are inside the agreed geofence.
CareCheckz uses low-value escrow to encourage reliable arrivals. All payments are processed by Stripe, and by using CareCheckz you also agree to Stripe’s terms. Amounts and fees may change over time. CareCheckz is not a bank, insurer, or fiduciary; our role is limited to applying the escrow and distribution rules described here using a third-party payment processor.
Both users place $6.99 into escrow. If both show up, each receives $5 back and CareCheckz retains $1.99 per user. If only one shows up, the attendee receives their $5 plus the no-show user’s $5, and CareCheckz retains $1.99 from each user. If neither shows up, each receives $5 back and CareCheckz retains $1.99 per user.
By tapping Settle Visit, you consent to the distribution rules in effect for that visit.
For some visits and launch periods, CareCheckz may pay some or all escrow and payment processing fees on behalf of users. When this applies, the amount you see as “held” in escrow already includes any platform or processing costs. CareCheckz may change or discontinue this at any time. Any changes will apply only to future visits.
You consent to CareCheckz collecting and using your photo, and any biometric-like data we may use in the future, solely for identity display and in-app identity confirmation (for example, Quick Identity Check before verifying arrival). This includes showing your photo to the other party and using it in identity steps before check-in. Photo and biometric-like signals help with in-app verification; they do not guarantee real-world identity or replace background checks.
Where supported by your device, CareCheckz is designed to work together with your phone’s secure lock (such as Face ID, fingerprint, or PIN). You are responsible for keeping your device access secure and not allowing others to unlock and use your account.
CareCheckz does not sell biometric data and does not store raw biometric templates such as fingerprints. You may delete your photo and account at any time, subject to our data retention obligations.
CareCheckz collects account details, photos, limited location data at check-in, and visit/escrow history. We do not continuously track your movement, sell your personal data, or sell your photos or biometric data. We share necessary information with payment processors such as Stripe to complete transactions.
CareCheckz is not responsible for user behavior, misrepresentation, emotional or physical harm, or any damages that arise from users meeting each other. You choose whether and how to meet another user, and you should leave the situation and/or contact local authorities if you feel unsafe.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CareCheckz’s total liability to you is limited to fifty U.S. dollars ($50) in the aggregate.
CareCheckz is provided “as is” without any warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to accuracy, identity assurance, safety, uptime, or fitness for a particular purpose.
Except where prohibited, any dispute with CareCheckz must be resolved through binding arbitration on an individual basis, not as part of a class action. You may be able to pursue a claim in small claims court where allowed.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict of laws rules.
